Job Description: Manager / Sr Manager HR & Admin Location: Vapi, Gujarat Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (API) 1. Purpose of the Role To lead HR strategies at the manufacturing site, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance (GMP/labour laws), and fostering a culture of excellence to support the organization’s growth. 2. Reporting Managers Administrative Reporting: Sr VP Site Operations Functional Reporting: Fractional CHRO 3. Department Human Resources 4. Grade Mid-Senior Management 5. Strategic Responsibilities Develop workforce plans to meet future regulatory demands (e.g., skilled labour for GMP compliance). Design HR policies aligned with FDA/EMA standards (e.g., documentation, training, ethical practices). Drive leadership development programs to build a pipeline of talent for regulated market operations. Enhance employee engagement to reduce turnover and ensure a motivated workforce. Ensure HR processes comply with local labour laws and international regulatory requirements. 6. Relevant Experience 8–10 years in HR management, preferably in pharmaceuticals/API manufacturing. Exposure to GMP, WHO-GMP, or FDA/EMA-regulated environments. Experience in transitioning organizations from semi-regulated to regulated markets. 7. Operational Responsibilities Talent Acquisition: Manage recruitment for technical roles (e.g., production, quality control). Onboarding: Implement GMP-focused orientation programs. Performance Management: Oversee appraisals linked to compliance and quality KPIs. Training & Development: Deliver regulatory training (e.g., GDP, GMP, safety protocols). Employee Relations: Resolve disputes and maintain compliance with labour laws. Compliance Audits: Prepare for HR-related regulatory inspections (e.g., training records). Payroll & Benefits: Administer site-specific compensation programs. HR Analytics: Track retention, productivity, and training effectiveness. Administration: Ensure effective management of facilities, security, and canteen according to GMP norms. 8. Educational Qualifications MBA in Human Resources or related field. 10. Key Technical Competencies In-depth knowledge of labour laws (India) and FDA/EMA HR compliance requirements. Proficiency in HRIS (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday). Talent management in high-compliance environments. Audit readiness for regulatory inspections. Data-driven decision-making (e.g., turnover analytics). 11. Key Behavioural Competencies Communication: Clear articulation of policies to diverse teams. Problem-Solving: Address compliance gaps proactively. Ethical Conduct: Uphold integrity in labour practices. Adaptability: Navigate evolving regulatory landscapes. Collaboration: Partner with QA, Production, and Corporate HR. 12. Key Stakeholders Internal: Plant Head, Department Heads (Production, Quality, EHS), Corporate HR, Legal Team. External: Labor law consultants, regulatory auditors (e.g., FDA), training institutes, recruitment agencies, and employee unions.
