The property is currently under construction with cottages, clubhouse, indoor games, gym, koi ponds, plantations and landscaped outdoor spaces being developed. We plan to open to guests in the near future, and want a Resort Manager to join now so that all systems, people and processes are in place well before launch. Job Purpose To set up and manage the pre-opening and estate operations of Nikis Nirvana — including staff management, daily checklists, maintenance coordination, animal care supervision (through staff) and plantation/landscape upkeep — and gradually take on full guest-facing resort operations once the property opens to the public. Key Areas of Responsibility A. Pre-Opening and Systems Setup - Work closely with the Owner to understand the master plan and timelines. - Create and maintain daily/weekly checklists for: - Buildings and rooms (readiness, cleanliness, safety) - Common areas, pathways, lake-facing zones and clubhouse - Animal areas (dogs, cats, koi ponds) - Plantations, trees and gardens - Draft simple SOPs for future Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B and Guest Services (to be activated at opening). - Set up basic reporting formats in Excel / Google Sheets. B. Staff and Vendor Management - Supervise and coordinate the existing on-ground team (housekeeping, gardeners, animal caretakers, maintenance staff, security). - Assign daily tasks based on checklists and ensure they are completed and recorded. - Monitor discipline, punctuality and grooming standards of staff. - Coordinate with vendors/contractors for maintenance, repairs and small projects. C. Estate, Animals and Plantation Oversight - Ensure overall upkeep of the property’s aesthetics and hygiene on a day-to-day basis. - Oversee animal care through the respective caretakers for: - Dogs and cats (cleanliness of areas, feeding schedules, basic welfare checks) - Koi ponds (cleanliness, filtration schedules, basic observation of fish health) - Oversee plantations and trees with the gardening team: - Watering schedules, pruning, fertilising, pest checks and replacement of dead plants. - Basic understanding/interest in plants and trees is highly appreciated; detailed horticulture will be supported by specialists and gardeners. D. Future Guest and Operations Readiness (once resort opens) - Take charge of Front Office and housekeeping operations. - Implement the SOPs and checklists created during pre-opening. - Coordinate with kitchen/F&B partners for standardised service and simple events/retreats. - Maintain records for occupancy, expenses and operational KPIs in coordination with accounts. E. Administration and Reporting - Maintain attendance, duty rosters and weekly offs for staff. - Keep track of daily expenses, petty cash and basic purchase records. - Prepare concise weekly updates for the Owner on: - Work completed vs. planned - Property issues and maintenance needs - Staff performance and requirements - Any risks or improvements identified. Candidate Profile Must-Have - 3–6 years of experience in hospitality, resort/hotel operations or estate/facility management. - Hands-on attitude: comfortable walking the property daily, inspecting work, and personally following up with staff and vendors. - Strong organisational skills with comfort using Excel / Google Sheets for checklists and reports. - Ability to live on-site in a nature-based, semi-rural location near Bhor. - Good communication skills in English, Hindi and Marathi (preferred). Good to Have - Experience in pre-opening of a resort/hotel or managing a large private estate/property. - Basic knowledge or strong interest in plants, trees and landscaping. - Any experience related to animal-friendly properties or farm/resort setups.
