Job Description

As a Network Project Engineer, your role involves assisting with the design, implementation, and maintenance of high availability multisite networks to support customer enterprise environments. You will provide advanced technical support and advice to IS staff and other key stakeholders when necessary. Key Responsibilities: - Perform a wide range of duties on network devices including installation, debugging, maintenance, upgrades, and general support. - Architect and support WAN connectivity to remote sites. - Research, evaluate, and recommend network technologies to meet business requirements. - Design, implement, and troubleshoot various network protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning Tree, Cisco Wireless, 802.1x, Firewalls (Palo Alto & Cisco), and WAN Optimizers (Riverbed). - Develop, implement, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans. - Act as a technical escalation point to assist with resolving incidents and tasks as required. - Manage multi-tasking network projects. - Produce high and low-level designs, including implementation and test plans. - Create network Visio diagrams. - Collaborate with internal teams and third parties for project delivery and change implementation. - Collect and review system data for capacity planning. - Interface with vendors for procurement and maintenance. - Stay updated on emerging network tools and technologies. - Create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures. - Perform other duties as required by the Team Leader, Network Systems. Essential Qualifications: - Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related Business discipline. - Relevant Industry Certification in network technologies or relevant on-the-job experience. Required Experience: - 6 to 8 years of network support experience in routing, switching, and wireless technologies within large corporate networks. - Demonstrated experience in providing technical advice, guidance, and leadership in capacity planning, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery planning. As a Network Project Engineer, you are expected to work collaboratively in a team-based environment, adhere to project work requirements, and possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Your ability to work accurately within defined time frames is crucial to meet business requirements.
