Job Description

Network Security Engineer (L2)

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, and VPN).
Administer and optimize
Checkpoint firewalls
(policy configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting).
Manage routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, etc.).
Monitor network performance, security logs, and threat alerts to ensure proactive issue resolution.
Perform firewall rule reviews, security assessments, and vulnerability remediation.
Collaborate with IT and security teams to define and enforce network security policies.
Support incident response activities, including root cause analysis and mitigation.
Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and security procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proficiency in
Checkpoint firewall administration
(SmartConsole, policy management, troubleshooting).
Strong knowledge of
routing and switching protocols
(Cisco/Juniper experience preferred).
Familiarity with
network monitoring tools
(SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and overall network security best practices.
Relevant certifications preferred:
CCNA/CCNP Security, CCSA/CCSE (Checkpoint), or equivalent
