As the Head of Engineering at our Chinchwad location within the Hydrogen division, you will be responsible for various key tasks related to the design of transformers, reactors, and other electrical components. With 12 to 15 years of experience and a BE/Diploma in electrical/electronics/power electronics, you will lead a team of design engineers to ensure the successful completion of projects from concept to delivery. Your responsibilities will include conducting pre-order discussions with customers, handling enquiries, optimizing costs, preparing technical specifications, and drawing approvals. Additionally, you will be involved in the preparation of manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and providing technical support to different teams as needed. Desirable skills and knowledge for this role include proficiency in software like AutoCAD and e-plan, knowledge of Thyristor & IGBT rectifiers, expertise in calculations for harmonics and power factors, and experience in commissioning and servicing transformers on-site. You should also be familiar with mechanical design aspects of transformers, quality tools, root cause analysis, and CAPA. Essential skills and knowledge required are the ability to design converter grade transformers, select appropriate winding configurations, perform thermal calculations for cooling methods, design reactors and hermetically sealed transformers, and adhere to relevant national and international standards. You should also excel in costing, design optimization techniques, technical discussions with customers, and managing a team of design engineers.
