Job Title: Tyre Operations Manager Department: Fleet Maintenance / Operations Location: Ropar, Punjab Reports To: Fleet Manager / Operations Head --- Position Summary The Tyre Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of tyre management across the company’s truck fleet. This includes tyre procurement, inventory control, retreading and resoling operations, maintenance scheduling, vendor coordination, and ensuring cost-effective, safe, and efficient tyre performance. The role requires a strong understanding of tyre life cycles, retreading technology, and fleet operations. --- Key Responsibilities 1. Tyre Stock Management Maintain accurate inventory of all tyres (new, used, retreaded, and scrap). Develop and implement systems for tracking tyre usage, wear, and replacement schedules. Ensure optimal stock levels are maintained to meet operational demands. Conduct periodic audits and reconcile physical stock with system records. 2. Tyre Retreading and Resoling Oversee the tyre retreading and resoling processes — both in-house and outsourced. Ensure all retreading and resoling work meets safety, quality, and performance standards. Evaluate and select retreading vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor their performance. Analyze tyre life and retread success rates to improve cost efficiency and reliability. 3. Tyre Maintenance & Inspection Implement regular inspection schedules across the fleet to check tyre pressure, tread depth, and alignment. Coordinate tyre rotations, repairs, and replacements to minimize downtime. Train drivers and mechanics on tyre care and preventive maintenance practices. 4. Data Management & Reporting Maintain detailed records of tyre performance, cost, mileage, and failure analysis. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on tyre utilization, expenses, and savings. Recommend improvements to reduce tyre-related operational costs. 5. Vendor & Budget Management Liaise with tyre manufacturers, suppliers, and retreaders to secure competitive pricing and service quality. Prepare annual budgets for tyre procurement, maintenance, and retreading operations. Monitor expenditure and ensure adherence to cost-control measures. 6. Compliance & Safety Ensure all tyres comply with road safety and transport regulations. Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and compliance checks. Promote and enforce safety standards across all tyre-related operations. --- Qualifications & Skills Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Logistics, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in fleet tyre management, preferably in a truck transportation or logistics company. Proven experience in tyre retreading, resoling, and maintenance operations. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of tyre brands, specifications, retreading processes, and performance metrics. Familiarity with tyre tracking or fleet management systems. Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP software for inventory and cost tracking. Soft Skills: Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Analytical and data-driven mindset. Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills.
