Job Title: Quality Engineer Construction Location: Thane Wagle Estate Department: Project/Construction Quality Experience Required: Minimum 7 years in construction quality control and assurance Reporting To: Project Manager / Quality Head Employment Type: Full-Time Job Purpose: To ensure that all construction activities are executed in compliance with relevant quality standards, specifications, and statutory regulations. The Quality Engineer will implement and monitor QA/QC systems, conduct inspections, and manage documentation for site quality control. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance & Control: Implement and monitor QA/QC plans as per project specifications, IS codes, and contractual requirements. Conduct regular inspections of construction materials, workmanship, and processes. Ensure strict compliance with design and quality standards during civil, structural, and finishing works. Site Inspection & Testing: Supervise and conduct testing of concrete, steel, soil, waterproofing, and other materials. Ensure third-party lab testing is carried out as required and results are documented. Maintain calibration records of testing equipment. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of inspection checklists, test reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective action plans. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports. Assist in audits (internal and external) and prepare audit reports with necessary documentation. Vendor & Contractor Quality Coordination: Verify quality of works executed by contractors and subcontractors. Conduct joint inspections and raise site observation reports or snag lists as needed. Review and approve material submittals and method statements related to quality. Compliance & Regulatory: Ensure compliance with safety and environmental norms related to quality processes. Liaise with consultants, clients, and local authorities for quality inspections and approvals. Maintain familiarity with applicable BIS/IRC/IS/ASTM codes. Training & Improvements: Train site teams and labor contractors on quality standards and checklists. Identify areas for improvement and recommend process changes to reduce quality defects or rework. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Minimum 7 to 9 years of proven experience in quality control/assurance in the construction industry. In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and IS codes. Strong documentation and report writing skills. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quality-related software/tools.
