Job Title: Quality Engineer – NHAI Project Location: Porbandar (Gujarat) Job Purpose: To ensure that all construction activities are executed in compliance with NHAI specifications, IRC codes, MORTH guidelines, and approved Quality Assurance Plans (QAP). The Quality Engineer will oversee material testing, workmanship quality, and documentation to maintain the highest standards of highway construction quality. Key Responsibilities: 1. Quality Control & Assurance Implement and monitor the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for all project activities. Ensure compliance with NHAI/MORTH specifications , drawings, and approved methodologies. Conduct inspection and verification of incoming materials, works-in-progress, and finished works. Coordinate with the site execution team to rectify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions. Prepare and maintain Quality Control records and test results systematically. 2. Laboratory & Field Testing Supervise field and laboratory tests for materials such as soil, GSB, WMM, bitumen, concrete, and aggregates. Ensure timely calibration and proper functioning of testing equipment . Review and verify test reports before submission to NHAI/Independent Engineer/Consultant. Maintain proper records of test results, frequency of testing, and calibration certificates. 3. Documentation & Reporting Maintain QA/QC documentation as per NHAI/PMC requirements. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports and submit to Quality Manager/Project Head. Assist in preparing as-built quality dossiers for project completion and handover. Support in third-party and client audits , ensuring all documentation is readily available and compliant. 4. Coordination & Compliance Liaise with Independent Engineer/Authority Engineer on quality-related matters. Ensure the implementation of corrective and preventive actions for all NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports). Provide technical support to site teams on quality standards and workmanship. Conduct toolbox talks and training sessions for site staff on QA/QC procedures and good practices. Qualifications & Experience: B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering . Minimum 3–8 years of experience in highway/road construction projects (preferably NHAI). Sound knowledge of MORTH / IRC codes and NHAI quality systems. Hands-on experience in bituminous and concrete pavement works , structural works, and material testing. Familiar with laboratory procedures, site quality audits, and documentation .
