Role Description We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Electrical Design Engineer to oversee the electrical design and development of systems, components, and products from concept through Commissioning and handover. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, manage project timelines, and ensure design compliance with industry standards and client requirements. This position involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Automation and Systems engineers. Candidate with experience of executing at least one oil and gas project with Engineering or EPC organization would be preferred. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of electrical systems and components for new and existing products/projects. Manage team of designer and junior electrical engineer and coordinate with other team members. Prepare list of deliverables, quality plan and engineering schedule, monitor and control with the support of project planning engineer. Carryout Electrical Calculations using software such as ETAP and others as prevalent. Participate in HAZID, HAZOP and other safety studies, provide inputs and close recommendations. Develop electrical schematics, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and specifications using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Altium, etc.). Develop Hazardous Area Classification drawings, Equipment layout, DB layouts, Cable layout, earthing plans, earthling calculations, voltage drop calculations, Area lighting plans, Electrical and Control room layouts, etc. Develop the detailed Bill of Material (BOM) for all electrical works including Equipment and Bulk materials including specification and selection of brands. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical designs meet all functional, safety, and regulatory requirements. Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers, reviewing their work for quality and accuracy. Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analyses for electrical failures or issues. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL, IEEE). Manage electrical design deliverables within the project timeline and budget. Interface with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are met. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Support Procurement team by preparing RFQ, technical evaluation of equipment and bulk material, MTO, Vendor document (drawings and calculation) approval and expediting, participate in technical discussions, Inspections and FAT. Collaborate with Owner/ Client engineering team or with PMC for design and drawing approvals, this includes regular meetings and traveling to Client office to clarify and expedite approvals. Support and provide clarifications to construction team for smooth execution of work at Site, this include visits to Site to provide onsite clarifications and solutions. Participate and act as technical advisor to Site team during Site installation, testing, Commissioning and SAT. Collaborate with Site team to development of Asbuildt documentation and construction records. Develop the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the Electrical system. Preferred Experience: Experience in Oil and Gas environments (e.g., Refinery, Petrochemical, fertilizers, other chemical plants, Pipelines and gas processing plants, etc.). Familiarity with embedded systems, HV and MV switchgears of reputed makes. Qualifications Strong skills in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering Knowledge and expertise in Electricity and Power Distribution Experience with Power Systems Excellent problem-solving and technical analysis skills Strong project management and leadership abilities Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a team and individually Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a plus Working Conditions: Office-based at Noida Sector 136, Delhi NCR with regular travel to vendors manufacturing sites, Customer locations, or field installations (minimum 20% Travel).
