This involves: 1. Comprehensive input and analysis of 15 years of financial data or more, if available. 2. Understanding the company’s fundamentals and the true economic profits rather than reported earnings which can be subsequently used for valuation with reasonable certainty/conviction. 3. Focus on quality of earnings including accounting policy choices/changes and the impact of same on reported earnings. 4. Analysis of research screen in terms of number classification, ratio analysis and quality grading etc. 5. Be able to highlight glaring risks vis-à-vis Quality of Earnings and questionable Corporate Governance. 6. Basic understanding of valuation methodology and business/industry analysis. Some other key pointers encompassing the responsibility of research associate (Client Servicing) are: 1. Analysis of Mutual Funds in the propriety framework. 2. Analysis of fixed income instruments in the propriety framework. 3. Support Analysts/Investment Advisors in Client Servicing responsibilities. 4. Client Communication and Database Management 5. Automation related efforts Skills: Must have: 1. Accounting and Ratio Analysis; Familiarity with Annual Reports; 2. Comfortable working (or taking lead) in Excel and other MS Office Suites. 3. Working understanding of Database environment.
