Job Description

Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline
Requires 5+ years of experience in RDMS and MS SQL server administration
Must have in-depth understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring requirements
Experience in Database Performance, Development and Maintenance
Extensive knowledge in database design, implementation, and conversion
Knowledge of PowerShell and Unix shell scripting is required
Experience with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS
Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities
Meticulous attention to detail
MCSE/MCSA certificates preferred
Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server infrastructures
Extensive knowledge of database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
Prior experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and PaaS Database components
Responsible for installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server instances
In charge of database backup and recovery methods, defining backup strategies
Responsible for Database access security and integrity, physical data storage design, and data storage administration
Participate in continuous process improvement on MS SQL server both On-Prem and Cloud platforms
Configure and maintain SQL Security controls
Make recommendations for system architecture
Manage disaster recovery planning
Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans
Troubleshoot application sluggishness and poor performance
In charge of database migrations and server upgrade for the End-Of-Life SQL instances
Create documentation and training for routine database administration activities
Responsible for big data ETL into SQL Server
Integrate SQL Server with corporate applications and other database platforms
Manage and maintain Cloud PaaS components Azure DB's, AWS RDS instances
Handle basic activities on other Relation database engines
T-SQL (Transact-SQL) Programming
Responsible for Security Audit and Transaction Data Encryption on MS SQL Servers
Integration services and SSIS package ETL knowledge required
Strong skills in writing T-SQL, PowerShell etc. are necessary.
