The role of a Clinical Assistant in Ophthalmology involves working under the supervision of the Director and Consultants to provide clinical care at Sir HN RFH following the standards of medical and service excellence. Your responsibilities will include assisting in diagnosis, conducting OPDs and clinical activities, managing casualty cases, analyzing test results, prescribing medication, and discussing treatment plans with patients and their families. You will also coordinate with various departments for OT bookings, ensure availability of surgical requirements, and maintain accurate documentation in the Hospital Information System. In addition to providing patient care, you will participate in health programs for prevention and treatment of injuries or illnesses, ensure adherence to quality indicators and infection control protocols, optimize departmental resources, mentor junior medical staff, and contribute to clinical education and research activities. It is essential to stay updated with knowledge and skills by attending conferences and training programs, while actively giving feedback for service improvement and departmental growth. The ideal candidate for this role should hold an MBBS and MS Ophthalmology degree or MS/DNB (appeared but results awaited), with 0-3 years of post-qualification experience. Desirable qualifications include fellowships in Ophthalmology and experience in a large multispecialty hospital. Key competencies required include a patient-centric approach, commitment to excellence, accountability, teamwork, integrity, and proficiency in technical aspects such as infection prevention, HIS usage, and patient safety. Your performance will be measured based on key result areas such as adherence to OPD appointments, patient satisfaction index, financial goals contribution, and training effectiveness. The role may involve exposure to communicable diseases and working in OPDs, Procedure Rooms, and Wards as per the shift rota.
