Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting skills, with at least three years of experience in designing and implementing M&E systems. The M&E Officer will be responsible for tracking project progress, ensuring data quality, data analysis of physical and financial targets and producing high-quality reports and case studies to inform decision-making and improve program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Develop and implement M&E frameworks, tools, and systems to track project performance and outcomes.
    • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and ensure compliance with project goals.
    • Collect, analyse, and interpret data to assess project impact and identify areas for improvement.

Report Writing:

    • Prepare high-quality, timely, and accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and partners.
    • Compile and analyse data for reports, case studies, and success stories.
    • Ensure all reports align with organizational and donor requirements.

Data Management:

    • Maintain and update databases to ensure accurate and accessible project data.
    • Conduct data quality assessments and ensure integrity of data.
    • Use data visualization tools to present findings in a clear and compelling manner.

Capacity Building:

    • Train project staff and partners on M&E tools, data collection methods, and reporting requirements.
    • Support teams in understanding and utilizing M&E findings for improvement.

Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with project teams to compile data across various sub-themes.
    • Communicate M&E findings and recommendations to stakeholders to inform decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education:

    Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field. A Masters degree is an added advantage.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in monitoring, evaluation, and report writing in a development sector organisation.
  • Mandatory Skills:

    • Proficiency in M&E methodologies and tools.
    • Strong data analysis skills in Excel
    • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a great positive. Going ahead this might become a great differentiator for term extension.
    • Ability to drive a two wheeler (Those who are learning driving need not apply)
  • Soft Skills:

    • Ability to work with highly experienced team members
    • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Language:

    Fluency in English, Hindi
