About the Role

We are building a mobile application for our Associate Portal and are hiring a mobile developer to own it end to end. This is a hands-on, single-owner role: you will lead the app from architecture and setup through development, testing, and deployment to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

What You'll Do

• Own and set up

  the React Native (Expo) application from scratch - project setup, architecture, folder structure, and conventions.

• Build

  the app end to end: screens, navigation, state management, and integration with our REST APIs.

• Integrate

  cleanly with our NestJS backend - authentication, data fetching, caching, error handling, and offline-friendly patterns.

• Own deployment: set up

  the full release pipeline - builds, signing, over-the-air updates, and submission to both the App Store and Play Store.

• Implement authentication

  and secure defaults - secure token storage, session handling, and privacy-conscious data handling.

• Set up

  push notifications for status updates and associate communications.

• Establish

  a maintainable, scalable codebase in TypeScript with reusable components and shared types with the backend where possible.

• Set up basic

  testing and CI/CD for the app (aligned with our existing GitHub Actions workflows).

• Collaborate

  with backend and design to define API contracts and deliver a consistent, high-quality user experience.

• Manage

  app store review, releases, versioning, and post-launch fixes and improvements.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 4+ years

  of professional mobile development experience, with strong hands-on React Native.

• Proven experience

  building and shipping React Native apps, ideally with Expo / EAS Build.

• Strong TypeScript proficiency

  - you write clean, typed, well-structured code.

• Solid experience

  of integrating REST APIs: authentication flows, data fetching, caching, and error handling.

• Experience

  with mobile state management and data-fetching libraries (e.g. React Query / TanStack Query, Zustand, Redux, or similar).

• End-to-end deployment experience

  - you have personally shipped at least one app to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, including builds, signing, and store submission.

• Comfortable with

  mobile navigation patterns (e.g. React Navigation / Expo Router) and building responsive, cross-platform UI.

• Familiarity with

  push notifications (Expo Notifications, FCM / APNs).

• Experience

  with Git and collaborative development workflows.

• Ownership mindset

  - able to lead the app independently, make sound architectural decisions, and communicate clearly.

Nice to Have

• Experience

  with a NestJS / Node backend, or comfort reading API/backend code.

• Familiarity with

  secure storage (Keychain / Keystore) and biometric or token-based auth.

• Testing (unit/component/E2E)

  and CI/CD experience (bonus for GitHub Actions).

• Some

  web (React / Next.js) experience - useful for sharing code and types across our stack.

• Experience

  building offline-first or resilient data-sync patterns.

• Awareness

  of app performance profiling and optimization.
