As an Embedded Software Engineer at 3D Systems, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining firmware and embedded applications that drive the performance and reliability of advanced 3D printing systems. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing and implementing embedded software for real-time control and simulation of 3D printers - Developing and optimizing firmware and simulations for ARM-based microcontrollers - Integrating and simulating hardware drivers, sensors, and communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C) - Collaborating with hardware, UI, and systems engineering teams - Performing code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure robust performance - Documenting designs and adhering to safety and compliance standards To qualify for this role, you should have: - A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field - 3-5 years of experience in embedded software development or simulation environments - Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems - Experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, ThreadX) and real-time programming - Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C) - Knowledge of Linux-based embedded systems and scripting (Python or Bash) - Experience with version control (Git) and Agile development practices Additionally, exposure to additive manufacturing or industrial automation would be considered a bonus.,
