Experience

5-8 YearsKey Responsibilities3-4 years exp into Alation DQ Tool expData Catalog Management: Use Alation to create, maintain, and optimize data catalogs, ensuring metadata accuracy and accessibility.Data Quality Frameworks: Design and implement scalable data quality frameworks using Alation's trust flags, stewardship workflows, and policy enforcement.Collaboration: Work with data stewards, analysts, and engineering teams to define and enforce data governance policies.Data Profiling & Lineage: Analyze datasets for completeness, consistency, and lineage using Alation's profiling tools.Documentation & Standards: Establish and maintain documentation for data definitions, quality rules, and business glossaries.Monitoring & Reporting: Develop dashboards and reports to monitor data quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement.Training & Enablement: Educate teams on Alation usage, data governance best practices, and data quality standards.

Required Skills

Hands-on experience with Alation Data CatalogStrong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data lineageProficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data analysisFamiliarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data stack tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift)Experience with data quality tools and frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, Bigeye)Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
