Job Overview: Youll be joining our Mitratech AI team, working on several API and UI components that are core to our AI features across Mitratech. We focus on delivering high quality (low escaped defects), well tested, secure (scanned and verified), scalable (AWS, but hardware isn’t the answer), software that delivers exceptional experiences for our clients. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Build subject matter expertise on your team’s code base and platform. Write clean, production-ready code that is easily understood and well tested. Do no harm and leave it better than you found it when refactoring components. Serve in an on-call rotation (DevOps philosophy where you will participate in ops) and respond promptly to any production issues to remediate rapidly. Be a teammate, communicate well, show up when expected, and be available. Write secure code. Avoid introducing an OWASP vulnerability. Know how APIs are secured, sessions are handled, and data is validated properly. Work in an agile development model and participate, or even lead, sprint planning activities to break down epics, estimate accurately and consistently. Participate in team meetings in the evening time to coordinate with team members in India. Look for and surface dependencies that can create technical challenges, bottlenecks, or otherwise inhibit deliveries. Build reliable observability; monitor and log alerts to ensure the team is aware of, and can respond to, quality issues or outages. Help other teammates resolve complex problems or think through design/architecture challenges. Be available and responsive. Foster an excellent engineering culture based in trust, accountability, character, and honesty. Seek feedback and deliver constructive criticism (e.g., code reviews) in a tactful and empathetic manner; build others up and mentor without ego. Be proactive in moving to new cards/stories and contributing to the team’s forward momentum. Participate and hold code reviews to ensure high quality deliveries. Remediate security risks found via penetration tests and scans. Your Qualifications: Possess a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience. Emphasis in engineering, data science, computer science or information systems is preferred Have a minimum of 5 to 7years of software engineering experience developing SaaS applications Proficiency with FastAPI, Flask and Python a must. Experience with React.js, Redux, webpack, vite, vitest and more Must have proficiency with AWS systems (RDS, EC2, S3, Security Groups, CloudWatch, etc.) Advanced knowledge of Git source control, versioning/branching, rebasing, etc. Proficiency with code coverage and unit testing frameworks. Knowledge of RESTful APIs and the security and scalability aspects of it Advanced experience with database queries, SQL, optimization and tuning (Postgres etc.) Knowledge of caching systems (Redis, Memcache, Elasticache). What You'll Do Lead by Example Write exemplary, clean, maintainable, and scalable code in PHP and Laravel, demonstrating best practices and high-quality standards across the stack. Solid understanding of SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query optimisation and schema design. Proficiency with Git, pull requests, and version control best practices. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the stack. AI Leverage Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate development and improve code quality. Operational Excellence Proven ability to write production-ready code and maintain high standards for performance, security, and maintainability. Leadership and Mentorship Track record of mentoring developers and helping teams grow technically through guidance, knowledge-sharing, and feedback. Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications) Experience leading complex technical projects from design through delivery.
