The SCM role interacts with the magazine production teams, transportation vendors, print manufacturing personnel, national retail distribution and wholesale distribution partners, United States Postal System operations personnel and other production group employees on a regular basis. Primary responsibilities: 1. Creating distribution plans for the Weekly magazine titles 2. Managing weekly plant production schedule to meet delivery requirements 3. Managing transportation vendors including negotiating rates, service levels and approving invoices. 4. Reporting / resolving issues with USPS deliveries and operations 5. Identifying cost savings through routing schemes, alternative carriers, load planning, and postal entry point changes, etc. 6. Identifying and implementing distribution plans that improve newsstand and subscriber delivery timeliness 7. Approving Carrier invoices clients invoicing 8. Participation in various distribution team optimization initiatives / studies Required Skills Mandatory Skills: 1. A college degree in Logistics / Distribution 2. Relevant experience of 3+ years 3. Analytical Project Management skills 4. Strong written verbal communication skills 5. Customer focus orientation 6. Ability to think clearly under pressure act decisively 7. Ability to build effective working relationships across internal external work groups 8. Intermediate Excel Good to Have: 1. Exposure to transport management system (TMS) 2.
