Mep Technician

Job Purpose

To execute, supervise, and ensure proper installation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems across project sites. Ensures that MEP works adhere to approved drawings, safety standards, technical specifications, and timelines for seamless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. MEP Installation & Execution

• Oversee installation of electrical systems (wiring, panels, earthing, DBs, lighting).
• Monitor plumbing works including pipelines, drainage, sanitary fixtures, pumps, overhead tanks.
• Supervise mechanical systems like STP, WTP, HVAC (where applicable), and fire-fighting works.
• Ensure proper integration of MEP services with structural and finishing activities.

2. Technical Verification & Quality Control

• Validate MEP drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
• Conduct inspections and ensure work quality meets IS codes and project standards.
• Check testing and commissioning of electrical systems, pumps, motors, panels, and plumbing lines.
• Identify defects, leakages, electrical faults, and rectify issues promptly.

3. Coordination With Civil & Project Teams

• Coordinate daily with Site Engineers, Project Managers, and Contractors.
• Ensure MEP works align with project progress and civil sequences.
• Support handover team with final checks and rectifications.

4. Vendor & Contractor Supervision

• Supervise MEP contractors and ensure proper manpower deployment.
• Track daily progress and escalate delays.
• Verify contractor bills based on measurements and work completion.

5. Material & Inventory Management

• Monitor material requirements and stock levels (cables, pipes, fittings, fixtures).
• Coordinate with Procurement for material orders.
• Ensure proper storage and prevent damage or wastage.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure electrical safety procedures and PPE compliance.
• Maintain safety in plumbing installations and mechanical setups.
• Conduct routine checks for potential hazards.
