Information Management: Organizing, storing, retrieving, and securing patient data (histories, reports, treatments). System Oversight: Implementing and managing Electronic Health Record (EHR)/Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, including data entry and technical support coordination with IT. Compliance & Security: Ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA and other regulations, managing data privacy, and handling Subject Access Requests (SARs). Data Integrity: Auditing records, developing coding systems, and maintaining accurate patient demographic and insurance information. Collaboration: Liaising with doctors, nurses, and insurance companies to facilitate information flow and improve record-keeping. Staff & Operations: Training staff, managing record-keeping procedures, and sometimes overseeing budgets or supplies.
