As an Assistant Professor in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, you will play a crucial role in the academic and practical development of undergraduate students. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Delivering undergraduate teaching in subjects such as Medical Jurisprudence, Forensic Pathology, Clinical Toxicology, and Ethics & Law in Medicine. - Assisting in conducting practical sessions, mock courts, and forensic specimen demonstrations. - Evaluating students through internal assessments and university exams. - Preparing study material, question banks, and MCQs in alignment with CBME norms. Additionally, you will be involved in practical and legal aspects of the field, including: - Assisting in medicolegal autopsies and preparation of medicolegal reports. - Participating in hospital and police liaison for medicolegal cases and court appearances as an expert witness under mentorship. Furthermore, you will contribute to research and academic development by: - Collaborating on departmental and institutional research projects. - Assisting in literature reviews, data collection & analysis, and drafting abstracts, papers, and case reports. - Attending CMEs, conferences, faculty development programs, and workshops in forensic science and medical education. Your administrative and support duties will involve: - Supporting the Head of Department in curriculum planning and maintaining teaching schedules and student attendance records. - Organizing guest lectures, student activities like forensic quizzes and debates, and departmental inspections and NMC documentation. Desirable attributes for this role include confidence in communicating medico-legal concepts, familiarity with legal procedures and documentation standards, skills in dissection and forensic photography, and proficiency with digital teaching tools and virtual learning platforms.
