Medical Coder E&M (IP & OP)

As an experienced Medical Coder, your role at SolvEdge will involve reviewing and analyzing Evaluation and Management (E&M) documentation for both Inpatient (IP) and Outpatient (OP) settings to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. Your attention to detail and solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems will be essential in ensuring compliance and optimizing reimbursement. Your responsibilities will include: - Reviewing and analyzing E&M documentation for IP & OP records to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. - Ensuring coding compliance with industry standards, client-specific protocols, and regulatory guidelines. - Utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II classification systems for accurate code assignment. - Maintaining minimum productivity and accuracy benchmarks as defined by the organization. - Working closely with auditors, QA, and training teams to enhance coding quality. - Escalating documentation discrepancies or unclear cases for physician clarification. - Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing regulations. - Supporting team members in resolving coding-related issues. To excel in this role, you should have 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in E&M coding (IP & OP) along with strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines is required, and certification such as CPC, CCS, COC, or equivalent (AAPC/AHIMA) is preferred. Additionally, proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, healthcare documentation, communication, and analytical skills will be beneficial.
