Mechanical Engineer- Chassis Equipment

Role Overview: As a Mechanical/Automobile Engineer focusing on Chassis Equipment within the CSETA Technology group at Volvo Group, your main responsibility will be to contribute to the design and development of the Exhaust System for various Volvo truck brands. You will be working closely with global counterparts, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient, safe, and sustainable transport solutions are developed in accordance with regulatory norms and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Design the Exhaust System for Diesel, Biodiesel, LNG, H2-ICE, and its key components such as Upstream/Downstream pipes, Muffler, Flex hoses/Bellows, Mountings, Installation, DEF tank & DEF/Urea lines, etc. - Understand the product design & development cycle from concept to launch. - Familiarity with Regulatory norms like Euro-VII, Euro-VI, BS-VI RDE, BS-IV. - Design complex brackets using Sheet metal and Casting techniques. - Interpret Digital Validation reports like CAE-Durability, CFD. - Collaborate with suppliers for component development. - Establish a strong network with Global counterparts and cross functions. - Strategize additional responsibilities and participation in Global Projects. Qualifications Required: - B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with 4-8 years of relevant experience. - Hands-on experience in Exhaust Systems for Diesel, CNG, LNG. - Experience in product design & development within the sheet metals and casting domain. - Knowledge of GD&T and 3D Tools like Creo. - Exposure to Volvo Tools and Processes such as KOLA/PDM. - Understanding of Chassis Equipment packaging, routing & development. - Agile way of working knowledge will be an added advantage.
