Mechanical Engineer 5 (Building Mechanical)

As an experienced Mechanical Engineer at CDM Smith, you will be responsible for creating basic to moderately complex engineering designs related to HVAC systems, plumbing systems, mechanical systems, sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green buildings. Your key responsibilities will include: - Creating engineering designs under light supervision to meet client project requirements - Reviewing draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations - Performing site reviews and studies to ensure alignment with location specifications - Developing white papers and technical documentation to support the firm's Total Knowledge Management - Attending conferences and symposia to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services You will also provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, review their work, and ensure firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Some of the skills and abilities expected from you include familiarity with HVAC system design calculations, proficiency in software like REVIT and AutoCAD MEP, knowledge of codes and standards like ASHRAE and NFPA, and expertise in Microsoft business software. Qualifications required for this role include: - Masters or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines - 12+ years of related experience Please note that there is no travel required for this position.
