As a Mechanical Engineer at Garuda3D, India's home-grown 3D Printer Manufacturer, you will play a crucial role in designing cutting-edge 3D printers. You will be responsible for converting ideas into functional mechanical designs for next-gen 3D printers, working on various types of printers such as FFF, CoreXY, IDEX, and specialty printers. **Key Responsibilities:** - Understand the mechanics and workflow of 3D printers such as CoreXY, IDEX, Gantry systems, linear motion, and extruders. - Convert product requirements into functional mechanical designs with minimal supervision. - Design sheet metal, machined parts, plastic components, fixtures, and assemblies. - Develop solid 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings. - Collaborate closely with electronics and firmware teams to ensure proper integration. - Perform tolerance checks, component selection, and manufacturability analysis. - Prototype mechanisms, test assemblies, and troubleshoot mechanical performance. - Enhance existing products for improved performance, reliability, and ease of manufacturing. - Maintain clear communication with suppliers and fabricators. **Required Skills & Experience:** - B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering. - 12 years of hands-on experience with 3D printers, including building, assembling, troubleshooting, or modifying. - Strong understanding of linear rails, lead screws, belts, pulleys, stepper-based motion systems, extruder and hotend mechanical design, and kinematics of CoreXY, Cartesian, IDEX, etc. - Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Creo. - Ability to logically convert requirements into mechanisms independently. - Strong problem-solving skills, mechanical intuition, and a passion for designing compact, reliable, high-precision machines. **Bonus Skills (Good to Have):** - Experience in sheet metal design for fabrication. - Basic understanding of electronics including NEMA motors, drivers, and sensors. - Exposure to Klipper, Marlin, or other firmware. - Experience with rapid prototyping or R&D environments.
