Job Description

Role & responsibilities As a Mechanical Draftsman specializing in static equipment, Mechanical equipment, pressure vessels and storage tanks, you will play a crucial role in the development and creation of accurate and detailed shop drawings. Your primary responsibility will be to transform conceptual designs and engineering specifications into comprehensive and precise 2D and 3D drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and project requirements. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and design criteria for pressure vessels and storage tanks. Prepare detailed shop drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings for both new and existing products, adhering to drafting standards and best practices. Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools) to create accurate 2D and 3D models of pressure vessels and storage tanks. Perform necessary calculations and dimensioning to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of the products. Verify and review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards before final submission. Coordinate with manufacturing personnel to address any technical issues during fabrication and assembly processes. Maintain proper documentation and records related to drafting work, revisions, and changes made during the design and manufacturing stages. Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and standards related to pressure vessels and storage tanks to ensure compliance and best practices in drafting. Preferred candidate profile Minimum 8 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsman with a focus on Static equipment, pressure vessels and storage tanks. Proficiency in using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks) to develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards related to pressure vessels and storage tanks, such as ASME BPVC, API 650, API 620, etc. Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and fabrication processes related to pressure vessels and storage tanks. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and error-free drawings. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
