Job Summary

Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop elevator components, assemblies, and systems using

  SolidWorks 3D and 2D drafting

  .
• Prepare

  detailed engineering drawings

  , BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation.
• Modify and improve existing designs to enhance performance, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.
  
• Collaborate with project, production, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and on-site practicality.
  
• Conduct

  tolerance analysis, material selection

  , and adhere to industry standards and safety guidelines.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new components/products.
  
• Ensure all designs meet Selens Elevators quality standards and comply with relevant codes (IS/TNEI norms where applicable).
  
• Maintain organized design file management and revision control.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.E / B.Tech

  in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• 3–8 years

  of experience in mechanical design (elevator or similar industry preferred).
• Strong proficiency in

  SolidWorks

  (Assembly Design, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Simulation preferred).
• Good knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, material properties, and fabrication processes.
  
• Familiarity with elevator standards, components, and installation procedures is an added advantage.
  
• Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings with GD&T.
  
• Good communication skills and teamwork ability.
  

Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantage)

• Experience in the lift/elevator industry.
  
• Knowledge of electrical basics related to elevator systems.
  
• Understanding of TNEI norms, IS codes, and compliance procedures.
  
• Experience with ERP/BOM management tools.
