Job Description

Role Overview: As a Lead I - Engineering Design at UST, you will play a crucial role in utilizing your strong product design experience in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with global teams to design sub systems/systems of process chambers used in the semiconductor equipment industry using Semi standard. Key Responsibilities: - Identify problems, define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering test reports, and troubleshoot a variety of difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision - Develop, design, or modify mechanical engineering concept/layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope - Provide solutions to engineering problems involving gas flow, thermal management, and structural strength - Utilize experience in quartz, SiC, O-rings materials selection, understanding of pyrometry in high temperature & vacuum/ATM CVD semiconductor reactors, and knowledge of close-loop control systems - Engage in product design & drafting of Machined/Structural/fabricated/Sheet metal components using CAD tools - Perform engineering analysis of difficult scope with limited supervision, including analyzing simple FEA problems/hand calculations - Lead and/or execute engineering projects, including the development of key suppliers and generating mechanical product specifications - Design, develop, and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly, and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle - Specify and review engineering documentation and implement concepts for a variety of complex product issues and mechanical solutions Qualification Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters degree preferred - 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering in a product development and manufacturing environment, with semiconductor equipment industry experience preferred - Knowledge in Vacuum Sciences is an advantage Additional Details of the Company: At UST, we help the world's best organizations grow and succeed through transformation.
