Mechanical Design Engineer

We are hiring Mechanical Design Engineers responsible for design and development of distribution and medium power transformers. The role focuses on sheet metal modeling, structural design, manufacturing drawings, and component optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical 2D & 3D design of transformers (tanks, enclosures, radiators, conservators, core clamps, cabinets)
• Sheetmetal design with bending, welding, assembly and fabrication considerations
• Preparation and review of manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and exploded views
• Design optimization for cost, weight, strength, and manufacturability
• Cross functional collaboration with electrical design, production, and quality teams
• Adherence to mechanical design standards like IS or IEC

Required Skills:

• Expertise in mechanical & sheet metal design, preferably in transformers or heavy fabrication products
• Strong knowledge of transformer mechanical construction, oil tank and cooling structure design
• Engineering drawing creation and GD&T understanding
• Bending, welding, material selection, fabrication and assembly constraints knowledge
• BOM creation and design for manufacture ability mindset

Design Tools (Mandatory)

• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or any 3D CAD design tool (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, etc.)
• Strong experience in Assembly and Sheet Metal environments

Who Can Apply

• Mechanical Design Engineers with transformer OR sheet metal product design background
• Experience between 2 to 15 years
• Degree: BE/B.Tech Any
