Job Description

In this role at CAI, you will be the Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer responsible for overseeing all mechanical aspects of commissioning projects from start to finish. Your main tasks will include coordinating contractors, conducting mechanical system testing, and ensuring the safety of project personnel. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and oversee all mechanical commissioning and testing activities for contracted projects at the client's site as per the Scope of Works. - Act as a technical expert and advisor for the client, providing insights on feasibility, practicality, and cost implications of solutions. - Coordinate with equipment vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and make informed decisions. - Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors to offer technical expertise and ensure alignment on commissioning deliverables. - Review design documents, approve those meeting commissioning requirements, and support the development of engineering and commissioning deliverables. - Develop, review, and obtain approval for test scripts, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) or Factory Witness Tests (FWT) as needed. - Ensure that testing and commissioning activities meet client requirements and specifications, and are consistent with performance expectations. - Manage project timelines, supervise mechanical commissioning activities, track progress, and provide regular updates to internal teams and clients. - Prepare technical reports on commissioning project status and communicate effectively with project and client managers about any issues, opportunities, challenges, or risks. - Identify and address scope variations, collaborate with Project Manager on quantifying changes, and assist in developing mitigation plans. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to interpret mechanical schematics and P&IDs - Familiarity with mission critical design concepts - Knowledge of Mechanical Distribution Switchgear, Substations, UPS, ATS, Batteries, Diesel Generators, Load Banks, and power quality analysis About CAI: Established in 1996, CAI has grown to a global team of over 750 professionals offering commissioning, validation, project management, and consulting services to FDA regulated and other critical industries.
