Accounting and Financial Management: Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial records in line with applicable accounting standards . Finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Review and analyze cost structures, revenue streams, and profitability by publication/product line. Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors for timely closure of audits. Manage accounts payable, receivables, and reconciliations, especially involving royalties, copyrights, and license payments. Taxation: Ensure full compliance with all applicable direct and indirect tax laws (Income Tax, GST, TDS). Oversee preparation and filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and advance tax payments. Handle tax assessments, scrutiny, and liaise with consultants and tax authorities. Implement tax-efficient structures for publishing revenues, especially in digital and international sales. Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Companies Act, FEMA, and other statutory requirements. Manage periodic ROC filings, statutory disclosures, and board reports relevant to the finance function. Stay updated on changes in financial and tax regulations impacting the publishing industry.
