The interdisciplinary role involves both academic and place-based research, community-based learning, participatory approaches for awareness and outreach, as well as academic and creative writing for the dissemination and curation of our work, programs, and initiatives. ㅡ Roles and responsibilities Research / Scientific, Community, Field and Participative. Ability to conduct desk-based research for academic research in low-carbon and alternative construction , capacity building focusing on earthen architecture. Competence to work in the field with an inclination towards community and participative methods for conducting primary research and dissemination of knowledge. Research will also involve preparing conference presentations, publications, grant and fellowship proposals, and technical documents and reports. An understanding of design research for disseminating findings and learnings to a diverse audience, effectively. Writing / Academic and Creative Academic writing will involve writing for awards, competitions, grants, fellowships, publications, educational reports, and technical articles/technical documents (published on the Masons Ink website). Creative writing for awards, competitions, project summaries, and blogs (published on Masons Ink’s WordPress). Studio Resource person for composing official letters regarding joining, experience, and offer. Outreach / Awareness, promotion and content curation Graphical and video editing of captured content for awareness creation and dissemination of key messages and information. Engage and communicate with different collaborators and organisations, and the necessary follow-ups for awareness and outreach programs on Masons Ink’s three verticals. Planning assistance and promotional content creation for events and workshops organised and curated by the firm. Curation of technical documents, presentations, content and communication on workshops, outreach and awareness activities. Creatives / Photography, website management, newsletters and presentations Website management - www.masonsinkstudio.com : Keeping the firm’s website up to date with projects, awards, outreach programs, blogs, newsletter and publications. Newsletter: Curate year-long happenings of the firm into a newsletter published annually. Creation of presentations and dissemination of content for conferences, panel discussions, guest speaking and masterclasses. Additionally, an interest in photography during events and in hands-on social media and publication sessions is appreciated. ㅡ Education Bachelor’s of Architecture A mandatory qualification. Master’s in Architectural History and Research/ Information Design/ Design Research/ Communication Design This qualification is a preference. ㅡ Skills and Requirements Experience and flexibility in different writing styles - academic, creative and content. Experience in copywriting and editing. Proficiency in citation and bibliometric analysis tools like Zotero, Mendeley, and Bibliometrix. Proficiency in graphic design and illustration. Experience in image and video editing and post-processing with relevant software. Proficiency in software such as MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Canva. Proficient command of English. Organisational and planning abilities.
