Key Responsibilities:

• Requirement Analysis: Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files and other project documents. 
• Test Planning and Design: Estimate test efforts, develop comprehensive test design, test cases based on requirements and user stories.
• Test Execution: Perform functional, regression, integration, system and nonfunctional / performance testing on desktop and web applications

• Bug Reporting and Tracking: Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools like RTC JAZZ or JIRA

• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues and successful project delivery

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong manual test skill: Verification and Validation methods and techniques

• Networking Knowledge: Understanding of network protocols, Windows Security principals.

• Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
• Testing Tools: Features and bug tracking systems (e.g., RTC JAZZ or JIRA), Quality Management System (e.g., RTC QM), performance measurement tools (e.g., performance monitor)
• Database Management: Basic knowledge and experience with database management systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Soft skills:

• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to identify and troubleshoot issues
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively document and report findings
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure thorough testing and accurate results.
• Fast learner: Ability to develop competency on system under test

Education:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field

Certifications:

• ISTQB Certified Tester

• Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP)

Additional / optional skills:

• Building automation protocols: Knowledge of BACnet Protocol, Networking, TCPIP and Hardware/Devices Configuration added advantage.
• Experience with Virtualization: Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, or VirtualBox would be added advantage.
• Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts.
