Role & responsibilities Leadership & Management Lead, manage, and supervise all pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel. Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures. Manage staffing schedules, performance appraisals, and continuous professional development. Clinical & Operational Oversight Ensure accurate dispensing and safe use of medications to patients. Provide expert advice on drug selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects. Maintain oversight of inventory control, purchasing, and storage of medications. Monitor and reduce medication errors and implement quality improvement initiatives. Regulatory & Compliance Ensure compliance with national drug laws, health regulations, and licensing requirements. Maintain pharmacy records in accordance with regulatory and organizational policies. Liaise with regulatory bodies during audits and inspections. Financial & Strategic Management Prepare and manage the pharmacy budget; analyze cost-effectiveness of drug use. Negotiate with pharmaceutical suppliers for pricing and procurement contracts. Evaluate and implement new technologies or automation systems to improve efficiency. Collaboration & Communication Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers for patient-centered care.
