Role & responsibilities As a Senior Shopify App Developer, you will: Build, Design and maintain custom Shopify apps (not themes) using Ruby on Rails or Laravel (PHP). Use Gadget.dev (TypeScript) to develop Shopify-embedded apps, admin UIs, and workflows. Implement Shopify OAuth, REST/GraphQL API integrations, and webhook management. Design scalable multi-tenant architectures and manage background jobs (Sidekiq / Laravel Queues). Integrate Shopify with ERPs, CRMs, and accounting systems. Extend Shopify using Functions, metafields, and admin extensions. Write clean, testable, maintainable code and follow CI/CD best practices. Preferred candidate profile Must-Have: 5+ years of experience in Shopify application development (private or public). Experience designing scalable applications Strong backend expertise in Ruby (Rails) and Laravel (PHP), NodeJS Solid understanding of Shopify APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and App Bridge. Experience with PostgreSQL, API design, and Git workflows. Experience with Shopify Functions, Hydrogen, or Remix. Understanding of event-driven design, background jobs, and queue systems. Nice-to-Have: Hands-on experience with Gadget.dev (training will be provided if youre new to it) . Experience with ERP integrations (e.g., NetSuite, Infor M3, Acumatica).
