Mainframe Legacy Modernization

As a Mainframe Legacy Modernization specialist, you will be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, and CICS. You will evaluate existing mainframe systems to identify modernization opportunities, including performance bottlenecks, data dependencies, and application architecture. Conducting detailed analysis of business requirements, you will identify key stakeholders to understand the impact of modernization initiatives. Developing customized modernization strategies, including migration paths, target platforms (like cloud environments), and technology selection based on client needs will be part of your role. Designing architectural blueprints for new systems, considering data migration, application re-engineering, and interface compatibility. Communication of modernization plans and progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management will be crucial. Managing expectations and addressing concerns related to potential disruption and change management during the modernization process is also expected. Qualifications required for this role: - Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - Project management skills to plan and execute modernization initiatives within timelines and budget. - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across different technical domains.
