Mainframe Lead

Responsibilities

Design and implement complex COBOL programs and subroutines.Architect and manage efficient JCL scripts for batch operations.Optimize and enhance CICS applications for performance and scalability.Manage database schemas in DB2, ensuring data integrity and performance.Mentor junior developers, setting coding standards and best practices.Participate in system integration, testing, and deployment phases.Analyze system architecture to propose improvements or new designs.

Additional Responsibilities:

Advanced knowledge in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.Experience with mainframe performance tuning tools like CA tools or IBM's tools.Proficiency in debugging complex issues using tools like XPEDITER or InterTest.Understanding of mainframe security, including RACF or ACF2.Ability to handle large-scale data processing and ETL on mainframes.Knowledge of interfacing between mainframe and other systems (like web services).Skills in change management and source control for mainframe environments.
