Summary The Portfolio Manager play a key role in shaping the company’s generics growth strategy across the APAC region. The position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing new product opportunities based on market potential, competitive landscape, regulatory pathway, and timing of patent expiries. This individual will work cross-functionally with Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Intellectual property, and Finance teams to build a robust and sustainable pipeline aligned with the company’s regional strategy. Responsibilities Primary responsibilities of this role include the following: 1. Identify Generics and 505b2 Opportunities through Market and Pipeline Intelligence Conduct continuous monitoring of the APAC pharmaceutical markets to identify upcoming patent expiries, exclusivity cliffs, and product gaps. Analyze IQVIA, regulatory databases, and patent intelligence tools Track competitor filings, product launches, and pipeline developments. Review product lists of external partners for new product ideas and guidance of the licensing manager Develop wishlist for potential generics and 505b2 opportunities with above assessments 2. Opportunity Assessment and Prioritization Assess feasibility of identified generic and 505b2 opportunities based on revenue potential, market size, pricing, and expected competition. Develop business cases with understanding drivers like strategic fit, competitive landscape, clinical requirements, and other potential external factors which may impact valuation 3. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Commercial and Business Development teams to align product selection with regional portfolio strategies. Liaise with regulatory teams to understand country-specific registration requirements and timelines. Work closely with Intellectual Property team to coordinate patent landscape reviews to assess Day 1 launch of generics 5. Reporting and Strategy Alignment Maintain a dynamic APAC pipeline dashboard and present regular updates to management. Contribute to regional portfolio review meetings and long-range strategic planning. QUALIFICATIONS Experience At least five years of relevant experience in portfolio management and/or Intellectual Property with overall experience of minimum 8 years Strong understanding of intellectual property (IP) landscapes or a strong willingness and aptitude to develop expertise in IP-driven portfolio assessment. Reasonable understanding of the APAC, EU, US market, including commercial, regulatory environment Strong analytical techniques and business acumen Education Bachelor/ Master’s in life science Master’s degree in business administration or business economics would be preferred CORE COMPETENCIES Strategic thinking with a commercial mindset. Dynamic, pro-active, and strong team player Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a matrix organization Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills Good proficiency in English (written and spoken).
