Role & responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify key target industries (e.g., large-scale construction, mining, infrastructure development, equipment rental companies, demolition firms) and specific companies within them. Perform comprehensive competitor analysis, including identifying major players (Indian manufacturers, International brands, local used equipment dealers and parts suppliers), their product ranges, pricing strategies, service networks, and distribution channels in India. Assess current and projected demand for pre-owned excavators, loaders, a wide range of excavator parts (engine, hydraulic, undercarriage, electrical, buckets, bucket teeth), excavator attachments, and generator sets across various regions in India. Distributor Identification & Acquisition: Identify and vet potential distributors across India for different product categories (e.g., heavy equipment dealers, spare parts distributors, specialized attachment suppliers, generator set dealers). Develop and execute a strategic outreach plan to engage prospective distributors. Prepare compelling presentations and sales materials to pitch the value proposition. Negotiate commercial terms, sales targets, service support agreements, and supply chain logistics with potential partners. Onboard new distributors, ensuring they have the necessary product knowledge and marketing support. Lead Generation & Relationship Management: Generate solid sales leads through direct outreach, networking, and participation in industry events (both virtual and physical). Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with distributors, serving as their primary point of contact for product inquiries, orders, and support. Facilitate initial import orders and coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure smooth delivery. Strategic Input: Provide continuous feedback on market trends, competitive landscape, and distributor requirements to inform our overall strategy and product offerings. Preferred candidate profile Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in business development or B2B sales within the heavy equipment, construction machinery, industrial components, or automotive aftermarket industries in India. Demonstrated experience in identifying, acquiring, and managing B2B distribution networks in India. Proven track record of successful lead generation and new business acquisition . Solid experience in market research, competitive analysis, and demand assessment . Prior experience with import/export processes, customs regulations, and logistics for industrial goods is highly desirable. Familiarity with major heavy equipment brands like Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, Hitachi, Hyundai, Doosan, Cummins, Perkins, Deutz, Isuzu, Yanmar is a strong asset. Skills: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written). Strong analytical abilities with a knack for identifying market opportunities and developing strategic plans. Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software. Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Hindi and other major regional Indian languages (e.g., Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu) is highly preferred and will be a significant advantage. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering (Mechanical/Civil preferred), or a related field. An MBA would be a plus. Travel: Willingness to undertake extensive travel across India to meet with potential distributors and attend industry events.
