Role & Responsibilities Mechanical Design and Calculations Perform engineering calculations for mechanical components to ensure functionality, strength, and durability. Create design concepts based on project requirements and technical specifications. 3D Modeling and Drafting Develop detailed 3D models of parts, sheet metal components, and assemblies using Creo. Create detailed 2D drawings with GD&T for manufacturing and quality inspection. Hydraulics Design Design hydraulic systems, select appropriate components, and integrate them into the overall mechanical design. Ensure proper routing and compatibility with other mechanical subsystems. PLM Manage design data, BOMs, and document lifecycle using PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter). Ensure version control and compliance with product release processes. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Apply GD&T principles to ensure fit, form, and function of mechanical components and assemblies. Ensure drawings comply with industry standards (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent). Engineering Standards and Documentation Adhere to applicable industry standards and internal design practices. Maintain proper documentation of design data, revisions, and change history. Material Selection and Heat Treatment Select suitable materials based on design requirements, and understand basic heat treatment processes to achieve desired properties. Problem Solving and Quality Tools Utilize problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis) to address design issues. Apply QC tools like FMEA, Pareto Analysis, and Control Charts in the design review process. Preferred candidate profile : Education : Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed Institution. Experience : 3 to 8 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in a product development or industrial equipment environment. Technical Skills : Proficient in Creo (or similar AUTOCAD software), Analysis Software (CREO Mechanica). Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, including sheet metal and hydraulic systems. Skilled in PLM (Teamcenter) Skilled in applying GD&T per standards. Basic knowledge of heat treatment and materials engineering. Analytical Skills : Strong problem-solving ability using QC and root cause analysis tools. Soft Skills : Detail-oriented, strong communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally. Certifications (optional but beneficial): GD&T certification, Six Sigma Green Belt, Creo Advanced Certification.
