Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional to fill the role of Senior Accountant in Perinthalmanna. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record +5 years experience in managing complex financial transactions, ensuring statutory compliance, and leading financial reporting efforts. This role requires strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage accounting functions independently. Key Job Role and Responsibilities The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the entire accounting lifecycle and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations: I. Core Accounting & Reporting Finalization and Reporting: Prepare, present, and publish accurate financial statements, including Balance Sheets , Profit & Loss Statements , and Cash Flow Statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis and generate various MIS reports (Management Information System reports), variance reports, and financial forecasts. Transaction Management: Manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable . Reconciliations: Execute complex Bank Reconciliations , and reconcile general ledger accounts, including A/P and A/R. Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and prepare budget forecasts based on historical data. Inventory & Costing: Conduct inventory analysis, valuation, and ageing forecasts of stock. II. Statutory Compliance and Taxation (Specific Focus) GST Expertise: Manage the company's Goods and Services Tax (GST) requirements, including GST Registrations, accurate calculation of taxes, and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns and related statutory reports. Tax Compliance: Compute and prepare all necessary Income Tax and TDS/TCS payments and returns. This includes assisting with internal and external audits and tax filings. Legal Conformity: Ensure that all financial records and reporting comply with relevant laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting standards (Familiarity with standards like IFRS and GAAP is a plus). III. Management and Leadership Team Supervision: Lead, review, and guide the work of junior accounts staff, ensuring accurate data entry and process adherence. Process Improvement: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency. Payroll: Manage the payroll function, including preparing monthly salary sheets and calculating staff gratuity and leave payments. Required Qualifications and Skills Category Requirements & Skills Education Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) is required. M.Com (Master of Commerce) is highly preferred. Professional qualifications such as CMA Intermediate/Semi-Qualified CMA or CA Intermediate/Article experience are a significant advantage. Experience 4+ years of focused accounting experience, preferably in a senior or supervisory capacity. Experience in a CA Firm or business consultancy environment dealing with various clients is beneficial. Technical Skills Mandatory proficiency in accounting software: Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (including Pivot Tables, Vlookup) and MS Office Suite. Soft Skills Strong leadership qualities, effective communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential. Languages Fluency in Malayalam and English is required, with Hindi proficiency preferred for national vendor/client interaction.
