With Liv-ex planning increased investment in technology over the coming years, were excited to open a new opportunity for a Tech Lead to join our growing team. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a backend focus to drive the development of high-quality, user-centric applications. Youll own backend architecture, set implementation standards, and lead a team to deliver performant, scalable solutions. Roles And Responsibilities: Youre a self-starter who loves taking initiative and seeing things through from conception to completion. Contributing to the technical conversations, understanding, and translating business needs from Product owners and other key stakeholders into technical requirements and implementations You will "own" features/tasks and are responsible for working with the team in scoping development and appropriate testing. Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend and product teams to translate user needs into technical solutions, ensuring a cohesive and smooth user experience. Delivering quality applications/features built using modern Java Create documentation for future reference and support using Confluence Participate in Agile SCRUM activities such as daily Standup, Sprint planning, Reviews, and retrospective meetings Key Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a backend developer with Java and Spring Boot. Prior experience with RESTful API design & implementation is mandatory. Prior experience with Microservices architecture is mandatory. Prior working experience with Unit Testing tools with Java. Prior Experience in both SQL-based databases (MySQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL-based databases like MongoDB, Amazon DocumentDB, Redis, Spring Data JPA and Hibernate (as JPA implementation) in a Spring Boot web application to implement the data access layer. Prior experience in working with AWS stacks like ECS, ECR, EKS, Lambda, EC2, Elastic Load Balancers, SQS, Amazon MQ, S3, CloudFront, RDS Aurora MySQL, Amazon Document DB and Redshift Strong hands-on experience working with Git and Docker, automating builds and tests using CI/CD tools like Bitbucket Pipelines. Strong with RDBMS concepts and experience in creating, maintaining, and tuning Tables, Schemas, Views, and Stored Procedures on Aurora MySQL Server Hands-on experience in database design and management Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail You're a team player with a collaborative and inclusive mindset who is comfortable working alongside and helping other members of the Team while having the desire to learn and grow your own skills
