Librarian

Job Summary:

The School Librarian manages the school library and promotes a love of reading, research, and lifelong learning. They support students and teachers by providing access to information, resources, and instruction in library and information literacy skills. The librarian plays a key role in fostering a reading culture and integrating library services into the school’s educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Library Management:

• Organize and maintain the library collection, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding materials.
• Manage the library budget and oversee acquisition of new books, digital resources, and supplies.

Instruction & Student Support:

• Teach information literacy, research skills, and digital citizenship to students.
• Support curriculum by collaborating with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson plans.
• Encourage reading through book talks, reading programs, and special events.

Technology & Digital Resources:

• Manage digital catalogs and electronic resources (e.g., e-books, databases).
• Guide students and staff in using library technology effectively and responsibly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s in Library and Information Science preferred).
• Strong knowledge of children’s and young adult literature.
• Familiarity with library management systems and educational technology.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
