Lead Treasury Accounting

As a Treasury Accountant at Tesco, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing treasury accounting activities, including bank and intercompany reconciliations, Treasury financials, and derivative financial instruments. Your role will involve ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial practices, coupled with excellent analytical and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities: - Review and reconcile bank and intercompany treasury transactions - Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner with relevant documentation - Oversee derivative and hedge accounting, including forwards, options, swaps, and futures - Ensure proper recognition and measurement in accordance with relevant accounting standards - Prepare and analyze treasury reports, cash flow statements, and bank fee analysis - Develop and maintain internal controls on treasury-related procedures - Assist with internal and external audits of financial instruments and related financial statements - Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems - Manage month-end close processes including journals, reconciliation, and HFM Consolidation - Take the lead in Treasury Initiatives, such as resolving legacy issues and implementing process changes Qualifications Required: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Chartered Accountant (PQE preferred) with work experience - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite - 1-2 years of experience in the finance domain - Knowledge of treasury management systems, financial databases, and accounting standards (IFRS, UK FRS) - Understanding of Treasury Accounting/IFRS 9 - Attention to detail and accuracy - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks, be agile, and adhere to audit procedures and compliances - Preferred knowledge of the consolidation process and system About Us: Tesco in Bengaluru is a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to serving customers, communities, and the planet.
