What You'll Do

• Lead the design, development, customization, and enhancement of Moodle platforms based on business and academic requirements.
• Architect and develop custom Moodle plugins, integrations, and extensions while ensuring adherence to Moodle best practices.
• Customize and optimize Moodle themes, layouts, and UI to align with branding, accessibility, and usability standards.
• Lead and execute integrations with third-party tools such as Zoom, BigBlueButton, Microsoft Teams, ERP, SIS, and other academic systems.
• Oversee platform performance, scalability, security, and reliability across deployments.
• Drive Moodle upgrades, version migrations, and long-term platform maintenance.
• Design and customize advanced reports and dashboards using Moodle reporting tools and database queries.
• Review code, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers in Moodle development best practices.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and business teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Own technical documentation, architecture decisions, and deployment processes

Our Ideal Candidate

Must Have:

• 610 years of overall experience with strong hands-on expertise in Moodle development and LMS customization.
• Proven experience leading Moodle projects or acting as a technical lead.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Deep understanding of Moodle architecture, database schema, core APIs, and plugin development standards.
• Solid knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, and LTI standards.
• Experience working in Linux hosting environments and with web servers (Apache / Nginx).
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex production issues.

Good to Have:

• Prior experience in end-to-end Moodle implementation for universities or higher education institutions.
• Exposure to Moodle Workplace or multi-tenant LMS architectures.
• Experience building custom analytics dashboards or advanced reporting solutions.
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud hosting platforms.
• Awareness of data privacy regulations, academic data security, and secure coding standards.

This role is ideal for a senior Moodle professional who enjoys leading complex LMS implementations and building scalable education technology solutions.
