As a Lead Software Engineer specializing in Java and AWS, your main responsibilities include: - **Architecture & Cloud Design:** - Define service/data architectures and choose suitable AWS services/patterns for scale, resilience, security, and cost considerations. - **Build & Delivery:** - Implement Java/Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs, manage API lifecycle, and ensure operational readiness. - **Quality & Reliability:** - Establish a comprehensive test strategy, implement resilience patterns, and enforce CI quality gates. - **Security & Compliance:** - Implement security measures such as OAuth2/JWT, secrets management, encryption, and ensure alignment with organizational policies and regulatory standards. - **Observability & Cost:** - Implement logging, metrics, and traces, define SLIs/SLOs, and design for right-sizing, autoscaling, and cost efficiency. - **Mentorship & Collaboration:** - Provide mentorship to engineers, communicate clearly with various teams, and facilitate agile ceremonies effectively. - **Refine stories into actionable technical tasks:** - Ensure technical tasks are well-defined, have unambiguous acceptance criteria, and accurate story point estimation. When it comes to qualifications, the must-have skills for this position include: - **Java (Primary):** - Possess strong Java skills covering OOP & SOLID principles, concurrency, web & API design, Spring framework, architecture & patterns, data & testing, and tooling & observability. - **AWS (Secondary):** - Proficiency in AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, ECS/Fargate, and related security & networking aspects.
