As a Senior Frontend Engineer with 8 years of professional frontend development experience, you are expected to demonstrate strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. Your advanced proficiency should include React hooks, context, and state management patterns, TypeScript interfaces, generics, and type safety, as well as modern ES6+ JavaScript features. In addition, you should have experience in the React ecosystem, including state management libraries like Redux, component libraries, React Router for client-side routing, and form handling and validation libraries. Your frontend build tools and workflows proficiency should encompass Webpack, Vite, or similar bundlers, as well as package managers like npm, yarn, or pnpm. Having CSS expertise with responsive design using CSS Grid, Flexbox, and modern layout techniques is essential. Familiarity with CSS-in-JS solutions like styled-components, emotion, or utility frameworks such as Tailwind is also required. In terms of testing expertise, you should be adept at unit testing with Jest and React Testing Library, component testing, and mocking strategies, as well as browser testing and debugging tools. API integration experience, including RESTful API consumption, error handling, and utilizing HTTP client libraries like fetch or axios, is crucial. You should possess a strong understanding of frontend performance optimization and web standards. Preferred qualifications for this role include end-to-end testing experience with frameworks like Playwright or Cypress, familiarity with design systems and component library development, understanding of accessibility standards such as WCAG, and knowledge of web performance metrics like Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse. Experience with CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployments, CDN optimization, static site deployment, design tools like Figma or Sketch, as well as design-to-code workflows and progressive web apps (PWAs) will be advantageous.
