Purpose/Objective


    The role is responsible for ensuring the deployment and execution of the Realty BU EHS Action Plan, Goals, and Initiatives at the project site. This role is primarily focused on the operational implementation of EHS protocols with minimal involvement in strategic planning. The position demands hands-on deployment, monitoring, and reporting of EHS initiatives while ensuring the safety and compliance of all stakeholders on-site.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Safety Manager EHS Strategic Action Plan (STRAP) Implementation and Monitoring: Implement the applicable STRAP at the project site as per the Realty BU guidelines. Monitor the implementation of STRAP at the project site and report progress/status to leadership. Deployment of Group/Realty BU Initiatives: Implement and oversee the deployment of Group and Realty BU initiatives, policies, SOPs, directives, guidelines, and protocols at the project site. Compile and report EHS performance statistics for the project site, ensuring accurate and timely submissions. Ensure the constitution and functioning of the Project Safety Committee (PSC). Conduct monthly performance evaluations of contractors and ensure weekly Safety Risk and Field Audits (SRFA) are conducted at the project site. EHS Audits, Inspections, and Conflict Resolution: Participate in and facilitate audits, inspections, and reviews of the project’s EHS performance to ensure compliance. Provide proactive, timely advice to the leadership team and contractors on EHS matters. Advise and facilitate the resolution of any EHS-related conflicts between stakeholders. Engage and motivate contractors, vendors, and suppliers to enhance their understanding of EHS requirements and encourage their contributions. Training and Capacity Building: Implement training and capacity-building programs for employees, contractors, and workers at the project site to ensure compliance with EHS standards. Engage employees in EHS campaigns, drills, and events to increase awareness and promote a safety culture. Implement Group-initiated EHS campaigns and programs at the project site to promote safety and environmental consciousness. Safety Management and Incident Handling: Ensure the enforcement of EHS protocols and conditions of contract as per the project’s requirements. Facilitate the timely investigation and reporting of any EHS incidents, ensuring the implementation of preventive measures. Ensure that HIRAC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control) and JSA (Job Safety Analysis) are conducted and implemented at the project site. Contractor and Vendor Management: Assist in the prequalification and onboarding of safety-conscious contractors. Guide, counsel, and facilitate internal and external stakeholders regarding EHS matters. Prepare the project team and contractors to participate in national and international safety awards and competitions. Reporting and Documentation: Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of MIS (Management Information Systems) and other required reports as per established processes. Report on the project’s EHS performance to the relevant leadership teams and stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience


    Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. or B.Sc.) / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by the Board of Technical Education. Alternatively, ADIS equivalent qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma may be considered. Certification in Environmental Management, Environment Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001), ESG, and EHS Audit. Work Experience (Range of years): 12-15 Years Preferred Industry: Experience in EHS, with at least 7-9 years in building construction works such as High Rise Buildings, Extensive Township, Mixed-Use Developments (Commercial, Retail, Malls, Hotels), and Infrastructure Projects. Minimum 3 years in a managerial role handling EHS operations for such projects.
