Lead Engineer

As a Language Model Engineer at Qualcomm India Private Limited, you will be responsible for training Large Language Models (LLMs) from scratch and fine-tuning existing LLMs using state-of-the-art techniques. Your primary focus will be on optimizing model architectures for NPUs, fine-tuning pre-trained models, handling large datasets effectively, evaluating model performance, staying updated with the latest research in NLP and LLMs, collaborating with other teams, and developing infrastructure for new optimization techniques. **Key Responsibilities:** - Optimize latest LLM and GenAI model architectures for NPUs - Fine-tune pre-trained models using state-of-the-art techniques - Handle large datasets effectively and ensure data quality - Evaluate model performance and understand trade-offs - Stay up to date with the latest research in NLP and LLMs - Work closely with other teams to understand requirements and implement solutions **Qualifications Required:** - Hands-on experience with PyTorch at a granular level - Strong understanding of NLP and LLMs - Proficiency in Python and software development best practices - Experience working with large datasets - Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related field - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - 4-10 years of relevant work experience In addition, knowledge of optimization techniques for training large models, experience with Neural Architecture Search (NAS), and hands-on experience with CUDA, CUDNN, and Triton-lang are preferred skills. If you possess a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of Software Engineering experience, a Master's degree with 2+ years of Software Engineering experience, or a PhD with 1+ year of Software Engineering experience, along with 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., you are encouraged to apply.
