General Description The Head Line Cook works both with and on behalf of employees/trainees to ensure high standards of excellence in service, execution, and processes. This position is based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The role reports to the Operations Manager and works closely with the Founder and Front End Barista to ensure Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate all activities in the kitchen with line cooks and bakers Ensure hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained Ensure all food is prepared to the standards of portions and presentation Follow, and ensure others are following, recipes and processes Lead service during busy times Monitor quality for freshness and presentation Lead in inventory, ordering, and receiving supplies Able to track inventory, ordering and procuring items, basic accounts and record keeping Seek ways to improve efficiencies in the kitchen - saving time, money, and energy Train and mentor junior staff and kitchen trainees Seeks to develop new recipes and cafe offerings Responsible for opening and closing the kitchen Willing to do all parts of kitchen duty, food prep, baking, cleaning up Assists front end servers as necessary Reports directly to Kitchen Manager works closely with Bakery Team, and operations manager Critical Qualities Strong ethic of service and a passionate commitment to mission and vision of Jonaki Professionalism in demeanor and communication (oral and written) Capacity to work under stress Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Organized, meticulous attention to detail Independent, self-motivated, and has initiative, values new things Values and works well in a team environment and celebrates the success of others Respect and sensitivity towards vulnerable women and families Ability to achieve goals in a multicultural setting Desire for continued growth as an individual, leader, and in job skills Effective as a team player and leader Responsible and trustworthy Flexible Qualifications Kitchen Experience with one year in a leadership role Strong leadership skills Ability to thrive in fast fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks Critical thinking ability Able to stand for long periods Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Paid time off Schedule: Day shift Evening shift Weekend availability Application Question(s): What is one thing you wish you could have in your dream kitchen work environment?
